Until now, Ångströ has focused on news about the people in your professional network. Now we’re delivering news headlines about the most popular company profiles on CrunchBase too! Follow the links to interesting new companies on their popular database of high-tech startups, and you'll find a widget on the right-hand side of the page that displays our latest alerts. We're complementing their existing pointers to stories written by TechCrunch and matching headlines from Techmeme with a wider range of fresher articles from around the Web.
By using the extensive CrunchBase profile description of a company like Twitter, our service can tell the difference between a news article about a random restaurant review and an business-model milestone to rank our list of 1,690+ links about Twitter from major media outlets and blogs over the past two months alone.
To make this all possible, we've had to change our site to allow anonymous visitors to browse our site. At news.angstro.com now, users can see a continuously updated stream of newly confirmed stories from all of our beta users (anonymously, of course). Of course, since we're building on top of our core platform for tracking everyone in your LinkedIn network, that means we have Atom and RSS feeds available for each of the hundreds of companies we're following on CrunchBase. We'd like to thank Henry Work for his swift and smooth integration of those feeds into the main CrunchBase site.
